The Price of Personal Development

Personal development is the belief that you are worth the effort, time and energy needed to develop yourself.

Denis Waitley

Do not stop believing in yourself. I know negative self-talk will point out the flaws in your existence. Do not hold a grudge against it. See it as an opportunity to work on yourself. We all have it. We say, “Why does this always happen to me?” and then you start to answer, right or wrong, you will answer the question. Instead, ask “How can I improve so this doesn’t happen to me?” Simple, but effective. You will become better at living.

Life is a lot like starting a new job. The shit you know isn’t enough, but when you gain experience and knowledge you get better. The shit thing is, it is on the other side of comfort. It takes going through the shit. It takes enduring pain until it was no longer pain, but pleasure. At least that’s how it was for me running. Learning, real learning isn’t always pleasurable, but sometimes that is the price we have to pay to get better. Not all skills and development are just a simple monetary transaction. It is not just going to school. It is put yourself our there. Sometimes they cost us in emotional energy, time, effort, and what we get back, could save us all the more. It is being bold with your creativity. It is taking action on your ideas. It is embracing who you are to be a better you.

I am out of time.
