Most problems can be solved if we prepare for them.
That is the post if you wanted to be quick about it.
But the meat of the post is preparing is hard, because it takes planning.
Most people treat life like their diet, they plan for the day or the week, anything after that is wild speculation.
I am no different, except when it comes to my diet. I made a major fitness goal change and so I bought six weeks worth of protein (food) so there would be no excuses and I would get exactly what I needed to be on track for my goal. The diet is boring and edible. But the truth is I don’t eat for entertainment, I eat for the nutritional value. That is what happens when you decide ahead of time what your priorities are. There is no room for boredom, there is discipline of action. I don’t have to worry about what I will eat, if it will be enough, or where it is coming from. Not sexy, but effective. The truth is most of life is like this, if we just plan and prepare we can get a lot of shit done.
Step one: start with a goal.
Step two: plan, you gotta know what you need, when you will need it, and what you are going to do with it.
Step three: Prepare so there is no excuse when the time for action comes.I should also remind you preparing is taking action.
Step four: Take the actions you prepared for.
Step five: Adjust to reality.
Step six: Evaluate results; either the goal will be completed or you will have to try again, with new information.
I know I left out the hard part, the work, the research, the time it takes to plan and prepare- but preparing is far removed from most of our lives as a good and helpful thing to do. It is worth not only thinking about, but implementing in our everyday lives. It is a better safe than sorry attitude. Something tells me, it is a worthy attitude of action we can all use, just in case the future doesn’t go according to plan.
