You Have A Say

Good morning, let’s rock.

Most people get knocked down enough they learn their place. It starts at a young age. You lose the foot race to most of the kids in your class. Your first crush doesn’t like you like that. Your friends decide they don’t like you anymore. You study for a test and fail even though you put your best effort into it. You don’t get picked to be on anyone’s team. Your parents aren’t proud of you, even if they still love you. You get ghosted by company wanted to work for, and every company after. Despite all the time and money you spent on your resume and interviews.

Life is a fucking beast just running you down until you submit.

But it doesn’t have to be.

You don’t have to fall in place. You don’t have to live beat-down. I get they have fucked with you since you were young, but if you are reading this you have one thing they cannot take away. You have your voice. I get it, you feel rejected and dejected, but that is because you learned to shut up and think the way they told you to. You have a say in your life. I want you to realize, that say doesn’t begin with repeating what others have said. It begins with you thinking for yourself. It takes you standing up for your perspective, your experience, your understanding of the world and your vision for what you want your life to be. I am not talking about being closed minded, I am talking about taking in new information and making decisions for yourself, for your life. You have a say in where you want to be in this world. A thousand rejections might just put you on the right path.

It is never too late to be yourself and to be your best advocate.
