Process and Getting Shit Done

Good morning, let’s go.

We all start a journey of life as a prebuilt character. Our height, our skin color, our, facial features, our abilities, our hair type and color, all that with a set of genetic instructions passed down from the beginning of human life on earth. And let’s be honest that shit isn’t intact, we got a ton of flaws and imperfections. Within us are instincts, talents, and charisma levels that help us survive. Who we become or who we transform into is up to us. We can live a life of tragedy, triumph, or comedy- it is all about how we see our story. Scratch that, it is how we choose to see the process of our story.

The process of our story isn’t a smooth ride. Not if we truly want to become someone, if we want to truly realize our dreams. The process is hard. It is work, it is full of challenges, failure, and mother fuckers who don’t have your best interest at heart. Shit happens then we step in it. All we can do is wipe it off our shoe as we travel in life. That too is part of the process. When shit happens, how we respond reveals who we are and what we value. The process of becoming requires roadblocks, obstacles, and challenges because they all lead to growth. It is why people hate when someone gets the job as a boss and doesn’t know the job. They haven’t been down the path, they haven’t overcome the obstacles to the work, they aren’t the leader they can go to with problems that need to be solved. That is a temporary situation, the boss gets flooded with problems and has to learn the job quickly. Most jobs can be learned in less than six months, but you get the point. We respect the process of earning knowledge through experience.

There are people who have achieved what you want to achieve. You can learn from their experiences, but it is up to you to get shit done. You have to go through the process of becoming. When we accept our journey, we can see life happens for us. We can see fate asking us how bad do we want to become our ideal self, because getting there requires growth through obstacles. There will also be plenty of detours and rest stops that want to take us away from our path. Other people might have intentions for us that do not align with who we want to be or how we want to live. Like sirens they beckon us to follow them. Join this company, put in for this job, go to school so you can make a lot of money, don’t pursue that it will take too long, going to school is a waste of time, not many people make money doing that, what if you don’t like it, why don’t you just get a job working for your family… And the list goes on.

Like going to the gym the process of becoming is work. Look at what it takes to get on the path and put in the fucking work. Get shit done. Make lists and mark them off. Meet people who you can help and who can help you. Don’t get distracted by momentary set backs. Don’t get knocked down and stay down, look up and see the vast stars that you can still reach for. As long as you have breath in you, you can get something done. Even if it is one small thing, you can push yourself, until you have enough momentum to feel like you are in the driver’s seat. You don’t have to wait for permission, just set yourself on mission.

Alright, that should be enough for you to want to get after it on a Monday. You got this, enjoy the journey.
